  • CHRISTMAS within a BIBLICAL TIME FRAME

CHRISTMAS within a(very simplified) BIBLICAL TIME FRAME

--Adam/Eve Sin: Godand man’s relationship is severed; the devil becomes the prince of this world

-- God makes acovenant -- with Abraham - to be Abraham's God. Abraham’s seed will bless allthe nations ofthe earth, inherit the land of Israel, and possess  the enemy’s gates.  (His seed is Jesus Christ. All IN CHRIST areAbraham’s seed.)

-- Abraham’sdescendants go into slavery into Egypt. Moses brings them out of Egypt. The lastplague God used to persuade Pharaoh to let them go was the killing of the firstbornsons. The  first Passover was instituted. God’s people were to slay an unblemishedlamb and  put its blood on theirdoorposts.  This  blood  kept the angel of death from their home.

-- Soon after Moses got them out of Egypt, Godmet with Moses and gave him the 10 commandments. These commandments were to beobeyed by the people in order to stay in covenant and in relationship  with God. God said He would one day bring anew covenant – one in which laws were written on the hearts of man and HisSpirit within them would enable them to keep those laws.

Christmas(NAMEWE GIVE TO Messiah’s birthday): Jesus Christ is born-- the eternalKing, the one who institutes this new covenantdesigned to create a holy people. When John the Baptist saw Jesus he said: “Behold the Lamb of God who takethaway the sins of the world”.

--To destroy theworks of the evil one, Jesus instituted a new covenant in His blood. Upondrinking His blood (letting His life come into our life and living in communionwith Him) and receiving all His Words (eating His body, the Word made flesh) weare partakers of the new covenant and its promises.. Jesus died to pay theprice of sin for us so that sin could no longer keep us alienated from God (if we accept all He did for us). He rosefrom the dead; He went to Heaven. He sent His Spirit to those who believe in Him.As we commune with and walk in His Spirit, we sit in victory with Him far aboveall the powers of the evil one. We are His family. We become joint heirs of allthat belongs  to Jesus Christ, the Son ofGod,  for all eternity.

-- Jesus promisedHe would come back again. Meanwhile, He develops His church, His people. WhenHe comes back He will bind the devil, marry His bride (the church), and ruleand reign with her. After a 1000 years of this reign the devil is let looseawhile to war again ;but, he is defeated and cast into the lake of fire (alongwith all not written in the Lamb’s book of life).

-- Then God creates a new Heaven and a Newearth for His people: Rev. 21: 1 AndI saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth werepassed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.3 And I heard a greatvoice out of  heaven saying, Behold, thetabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and theyshall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be theirGod. 4 And God shall wipeaway all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neithersorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former thingsare passed away. 5 And he that sat uponthe throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: forthese words are true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alphaand Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst ofthe fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things;and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.                                                                    THE NEW BEGINNING
